Inspired by the presence of existing historic barns, the design for Windsong Farms Golf Club borrows from the site's history as a horse farm and fuses this rural vernacular with New England-style architecture. A small quad comprised of three main buildings creates a series of intimate outdoor gathering spaces, where red maples cast shade and green panoramas reflect in adjacent windows. The courtyards are further defined by dry-stacked stone walls and neat pathways between the clubhouses. The elegant, yet unpretentious, use of materials works with the client's desire for a casual, family-oriented golfing experience. Elevated on a green plinth, the site offers panoramic views of a more wild canvas composed of gently rolling greens framed by native trees and grasses.
