Allianz Life Insurance recently acquired Life USA, creating the need for a new consolidated corporate campus. In order to alleviate some of the noise and activity at the new location, a premium was placed on the creation of an abundant and buffering landscape. The client desired a corporate image that projected strength, as well as consideration. A series of five primary garden spaces will wrap around, and act to connect, the buildings proposed for the development. A quiet, sunken fountain garden, while visible from the executive boardroom, also provides audible and visual relief from the passing suburban traffic for those outside. A vibrant checkerboard garden wraps around the southeast corner of the first building, providing seasonal interest for employees and for those on the road. Additional gardens were designed to address not only the inspirational needs of employees, but also to offer a glimpse of beauty to the thousands of motorists passing by every day.
